A Classic Piper’s Pit Episode Becomes A Toy With Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer

WWE and Mattel Creations toys announced they will be selling a play set to recreate the Piper’s Pit segment featuring “Rowdy” Roddy Piper and special guest Cyndi Lauper along with unexpected guest Captain Lou Albano. The toy is included within a 1980s style TV toy. It is currently listed on the Mattel Creations website, but isn’t available for pre-sale as of this writing but it will be sold for $80 https://creations.mattel.com/products/wwe-rock-n-wrestling-connection-3-pack-jnb67

The real life Piper’s Pit episode originally aired on WWE TV on June 16, 1984.

This is Lauper’s first WWF action figure. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2025 but to the continued surprise of pro wrestling fans she is not yet a WWE Hall Of Famer. Lauper was key in the Rock N’ Wrestling Connection pop culture sensation between the WWF and MTV that started in 1984. She feuded with Albano, Piper, and The Fabulous Moolah.

Lauper and David Wolff managed Wendi Richter on the WWF’s MTV special “The Brawl To End It All” on July 23, 1984 at Madison Square Garden. Richter defeated WWF Women’s Champion The Fabulous Moolah to win the title by pinfall in 11:20 after getting her shoulder up in time when they both had their shoulders down on the mat during the three count. Moolah was managed by Captain Lou Albano.
