Detailed WWE SmackDown TV Tapings 6/29/26 Results From Atlantic City
WWE Friday Night SmackDown TV tapings results from Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Monday, June 29, 2026:
SmackDown took place after the live WWE Raw ended on Netflix and will air on Friday night in the usual time spots. The WWE crew will have 4th Of July Weekend off. This episode will also be the first SmackDown of the year to return back to two hours from 8pm to 10pm ET.
On WWE Main Event taped before Raw, Dragon Lee pinned Rusev with a cradle when Rusev tried to put him in The Accolade for a second time during the match in 4:41.
Michael Cole and Corey Graves were the broadcast team. Alicia Taylor was the ring announcer.
The new WWE Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn came out to the ring. He said he is touched from the bottom of his heart by the great reaction he has been given since winning the title on Saturday. He then complained about being booed for the last few months. He said he could be petty about it and tell everyone “kiss my ass” but he won’t because he is a good guy. He said he could also tell other people the same thing because they told him that he would never be a top guy and they didn’t believe he could win the title. He said he is now a “Grand Slam Champion” and a main eventer so no amount of hate can ever take that away from him.
Cody Rhodes came out to interrupt him. Rhodes said when he won the title Zayn was the first one to congratulate him so now he wants to do the same thing for him. Rhodes was going to leave the ring but Zayn told him to come back because he didn’t think a simple congratulations was all there was. He said he knows Rhodes probably wants to get the title back from him so he demanded to know why Rhodes was really out in the ring.
Jey Uso then came out. He shook hands with Zayn and hugged him. He said he was proud of Zayn because Zayn deserved the title. He said Zayn knows why he is out there… he wants a shot to win the title for “the family.” Rhodes scoffed at Uso’s comments and accused him of being an errand boy for Roman Reigns. Rhodes said Uso interrupted him and Zayn right as they were about to discuss having a title match.
Zayn felt the tension with Rhodes and Uso. He said he was going to put a stop to it. He said they both had their chances as champions but now it’s his time. He politely said he is Rhodes’ friend and like Uso’s family but he warned them to stay away from him and the title.
WWE official Adam Pearce then came out. Pearce said he is in charge right now because SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis has been suspended due to his confrontation with Gunther after WWE Night Of Champions on Saturday. Pearce said his first order of business is to find Zayn his first title challenger. He said it will be Rhodes vs. Uso in a #1 Contender Match tonight with the winner facing Zayn for the title at WWE Raw in Chicago on July 6.
Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, and Chelsea Green were backstage talking about their match against Jade Cargill and her faction tonight.
Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab defeated Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, and Chelsea Green when Cargill pinned Green once again after a Jaded in 7:38. Green was very over with the crowd during the match. They kept cheering her name before she made the hot tag. It looked like she was about to get the pin on Jade to the delight of the fans but B-Fab got up on the ring to cause a distraction. Green decked B-Fab off of the ring but she had her attention turned away from Cargill who was behind her for the Jaded.
Adam Pearce was shown backstage on the phone with Nick Aldis. Sami Zayn walked up to him and said he is a SmackDown Superstar and wanted to know why he was having to defend the title on Raw. Pearce said he was giving him a great opportunity and told him he’d see him on Monday. Pearce then quickly walked away. Zayn got into a little better mood when he saw the still catatonic Johnny Gargano along with Candice LeRae backstage. He thanked Gargano for always being there for him and listening to him. He had LeRae take a picture of the two of them together now that he is the champion.
AAA Cruiserweight Champion Ray Fenix pinned El Hijo Del Vikingo after the Black Fire Driver when Vikingo missed a 450 Splash from off of a ring post in 7:44.
Cathy Kelley interviewed Giulia backstage to talk about Blake Monroe after what happened last week. Giulia said she doesn’t back away from any fight and will take Monroe on any time and anywhere. Kiana James walked into the picture and confronted Giulia. James said Giulia “bites the hand that feeds her”. Giulia reminded James that she got beat by her last week. Monroe then jumped Giulia from behind and rammed her into production boxes. James crouched over Giulia to gloat, but as she was doing that, Monroe jumped her and rammed her into the production boxes as well.
Jimmy Uso was talking to Jacob Fatu backstage. Royce Keys walked up to them. Uso asked Keys if he knows where Solo Sikoa is because they’ve been looking for him. Keys turned his attention to Fatu and reminded him that they’ve known each other for 14 years. He said as far as he’s concerned he’s more family to Fatu than anyone else. Uso gave an arrogant smile and told Keys “Not no more.”
Trick Williams and Lil Yachty came out to the ring but before they could even speak Carmelo Hayes came out to join them. Hayes wanted another rematch for the WWE United States Title. He said he made the title an actual title but Trick has now made it an “accessory.” He said the U.S. Title is the “workhorse” title. Yachty got on the mic and asked the crowd if Williams should give Hayes a match. The crowd said “yes”. Yachty said Williams will give him a match next week but it will NOT be for the title. He said if Williams beats him next week there will be no more chances and matches against him. Williams spoke and said with all the history between himself and Hayes he really does know Hayes like the back of his hand. He then gave Hayes a cheap shot slap to knock him down. Hayes recovered as Williams and Yachty were trying to leave the ringside area and he did a big dive on top of Williams. Yachty tried to go after Hayes with the kendo stick/cane but Williams backed him off.
Danhausen was talking to Matt Cardona backstage. Danhausen still has The Miz and Kit Wilson involved in his experiments like a 1950s and 1960s sci-fi movie. This week’s experiment backfired as The Miz and Wilson acted like they were being electrocuted. Danhaused mentioned in the segment that he has a match against JD McDonagh on WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18.
Lainey Reid (with Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley) pinned Brie Bella (with Paige) after a knee strike that looked like a knock out blow in 3:18. Paige stopped Henley from interfering but then Jayne went after Paige. Paige tried to fight them both off but they had the 2-on-1 advantage. Bella left the ring to go after Henley, and when she got back into the ring, Reid caught with the knee shot.
Finn Balor spoke to Cody Rhodes backstage as Rhodes was getting ready to come out for the main event. Balor said he had hoped to face Rhodes for the WWE Undisputed Title. He gave Rhodes a pep talk and told him to go get the title back starting tonight. Tama Tonga walked up and confronted Balor right after Rhodes walked away. Talla Tonga jumped Balor from behind as Tama caused the distraction. Tama told Balor he was going to close the book on his past so that means Balor is next.
Cody Rhodes pinned Jey Uso after a Cross Rhodes in their #1 Contender Match in 10:34.
