OVW Rise 5/28/26 Results: The Women’s Title Tournament Begins

The OVW Women’s Title has been vacated as we wrote about the other day and the tournament for a new champion begins this week. The finals will be on the big OVW 1400 show on 6/11/26.
The OVW Media Title was also vacated recently so a tournament for that title also starts this week with the finals at OVW 1400 as well. Jay DeNiro was the champion. When he won the OVW Heavyweight Title earlier this month he relinquished the Media Title.
AJ McKay, Josh Ashcraft, and Linda Kay were the broadcast team. Eric Cornish was the ring announcer.
Coby Carter won a 3-Way Media Title Tournament Match over Jake Painter and Erik Surge by pinning Painter in 10:33. Painter used a chain to knock Surge out as Carter was stuck down on the floor with the referee checking on him. Carter was able to make it back into the ring to gave Painter a curb stomp while Painter had Surge covered after using the chain on him.
Dustin Jackson was backstage wanting Ashton Adonis to form an alliance with him. Adonis politely turned him down and said he has goals and plans of his own in OVW. When Adonis walked away Jackson shouted a warning saying he would regret the decision. On June 11, it will be JBL and a mystery partner as of now vs. Dustin Jackson and a mystery partner (if he can find one).
Leela Hall won a 3-Way OVW Women’s Title Tournament Match over “The Marionette” Noelle and Karter Cuffman by pinning them both as the same time as the two tried to give each other a backslide in 5:18.
Freya the Slaya pinned Leela Feist (with OVW Rush Division Champion JJ Lawson) after a Tombstone Piledriver in a OVW Women’s Title Tournament Match in 4:59. Lawson tried to interfere on the ring again at the end but Slaya used Feist as a weapon to knock him down to the floor.
Dustin Jackson was shown backstage still looking for a tag team partner.
OVW United States Champion Tony Evans came out to the ring. He said Jay DeNiro isn’t even here tonight now that he is the new OVW Heavyweight Champion. He challenged him to match at OVW 1400. He said DeNiro said it would be history with the OVW Heavyweight Champion vs. OVW U.S. Champion. He said he will make sure to make DeNiro become history. He mocked how long it took DeNiro to be the champion and reminded everyone that DeNiro was his bodyguard for three years in OVW. He said he will leave DeNiro with no title and nothing else.
Drew Hernandez won a 3-Way OVW Media Title Tournament Match over Donovan Cecil and Austin Ryker (fka as Star Rider) by pinning Ryker after a spear in 12:37. It looked like Ryker was about to pin Cecil after two shotgun dropkicks followed by the diving double stomp but Hernandez speared him out of the way as he was about to make the pin cover.
Hour 2-
Dustin Jackson asked Kal Herro to be his tag team partner as they were in the locker room. Herro simply told him to “go f—k” himself but it was censored out.
Shalonce Royal (with PJ Jones) pinned Killah Kai in an OVW Women’s Title Tournament Match after a couple of kicks and knee lifts followed by the Flatliner in 2:42.
Lovely Miss Larkan (with Tommy Boy) won a 3-Way OVW Women’s Title Tournament Match over Janie Hartman (with The Sin City Outlaws) and Rae Larson by pinning Larson with Tommy Boy holding Larson’s feet down from ringside in 4:53. Even if it was a No Disqualification Rules because of being a 3-Way Match, the referee ejected The Sin City Outlaws from ringside when they stopped Larson from giving Hartman her finishing move.
Dustin Jackson continued to beg for a tag team partner backstage but with no luck.
Ashton Adonis pinned Jake Lawless in an OVW Media Title Tournament in 4:43.
Dustin Jackson finally found a tag team partner backstage but the cameras didn’t reveal who the person was.
Kal Herro went to a No Contest with Stephen Steel in an OVW Media Title Tournament when they brawled with each other back to the cafeteria area in 6:58. Other members of the roster were watching the match from there and they started brawling with each other with Herro and Steel’s fight spilled over into them.
Dustin Jackson arrogantly walked out to the ring now that he found a tag team partner. He bashed JBL and called him a fake cowboy. He said JBL was overrated and now washed up. He brought out Kash Daniel as his partner. The announcers yelled that we still don’t know who JBL’s partner is as the show went off the air.
The two title Tournaments continue next week.
